Finally, some movie news!

This blog has purpose! It hasn’t turned into my fanfiction showcase, I promise.

So, the progress of The Thing prequel’s been pretty sketchy for over a year now, and io9 tells me that it’s finally got some clarity to all the hubbub about when its going to release and how it’s going to be.

io9 reports that The Thing’s tagline has been changed—I don’t know what from, because I wasn’t following the development really at all (I’m a hack)—but it’s okay, because the new one is:

“Before it was unleashed, it was discovered.”

Does this have any weight to my opinion on the film so far? Nah.

Cool tagline though.

Seeing as The Thing is my favourite movie of all time, there’s no reason why I won’t be excited. Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a leading role? Eh, why not. Apparently most of the film will be in Norwegian too. Should I be worried? No, since I’ll enjoy it no matter the quality of the film. As long as I get to see a sequel.

But if I see any super 3-D computerized lame-o gore effects, I will rage. Nothing will ever beat fake blood, latex moulds, and mechanical puppeteering. Nothing.

Also, a date. April 22, 2011. Mark it down!

Or the head-spider will find you.

And we don’t want that, now, do we?
